Things To Do in Santa Cruz: Visit the Beach!
Our hostel is just a few blocks from the beach! Just a two minute walk to volley ball courts, surfing schools, and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Also, a short walk down the hill from the hostel is The Santa Cruz Wharf, where you can see Sea Lions in their natural habitat, rent kayaks, rent motor boats, go fishing, and eat at locally owned restaurants.

Main Beach and Boardwalk Amusement Park
Just down the street from the hostel. Play some volleyball or stop by the beach boardwalk and see if you can spot some local sand art.

Seabright Beach
About a 20 minute walk from the hostel. This large beach is great for lying out and swimming. It also has fire pits for night time bonfires!

Sunny Cove
A small beach enclosed by cliffs. Favorite spot for locals at the end of 17th avenue. Bring your guitar!

38th
A great spot for beginning surfers, dogs, and families.

Natural Bridges
Check the charts for low tide and enjoy the tide pools. This beach can be windy, but it boasts a great bbq/picnic area for lunch and a state park for hiking by the beach.

Famous Surf Spots
Mavericks, Pleasure Point, Steamer Lane, The Hook

Municipal Wharf
It’s been around for over 100 years! Great views of the bay, shopping, fresh seafood, sea lions, local fisherman and more!

Santa Cruz Harbor
Easy walk. It’s the main harbor for Santa Cruz. It is still an active commercial fishing harbor for crab, tuna, and salmon. You can also rent paddleboards and take Kayak classes.
